Markers: Total Cholesterol, HDL, LDL, HDL %, Non-HDL, Total: HDL Ratio, Triglycerides

This test measures the levels of different types of cholesterol in the blood. It can help to evaluate your risk of developing heart disease and stroke in the future.

Whilst the body requires a certain amount of cholesterol for functioning, elevated levels of LDL and non-HDL cholesterol can increase the risk
of developing heart disease and/or stroke in the future.

This is especially important if you have risk factors for heart disease, such as a family history of the condition, high blood pressure, or diabetes. You can also use this test to monitor your cholesterol profile levels over time.

Based on your cholesterol blood test results, your healthcare provider
may recommend lifestyle changes to help manage your cholesterol levels. These changes may include eating a heart-healthy diet, exercising regularly, losing weight if necessary, and quitting smoking. In some cases, medication may be prescribed to help lower cholesterol levels.
