Blood Tests

Blood Tests & Health

Blood tests are a vital tool in maintaining & monitoring your overall health.

They provide a detailed snapshot of your body's inner workings, revealing important information about your organ function, nutrient levels, and risk factors for chronic conditions like diabetes, heart disease, and thyroid disorders.

Regular blood tests can help detect potential health issues early, often before symptoms appear, allowing for timely intervention & better treatment outcomes.

By keeping track of key biomarkers such as cholesterol, blood sugar, and vitamin levels, blood tests empower you to make informed decisions about your lifestyle, diet & medical care, ensuring you stay proactive in managing your health.

Blood Tests & Skin:

Great Skin Starts from Within! Your skin is often a reflection of your internal health. While skincare products and treatments play an important role in maintaining a healthy complexion, many common skin concerns — like acne, eczema, rosacea, or dullness — can actually stem from imbalances within the body.

At 1st Stop Health, we offer targeted blood testing to help uncover the root causes of skin issues and create truly personalised treatment plans.

Why test your blood for skin issues?

Many skin conditions are influenced by factors that aren't visible on the surface. Blood tests can reveal what’s really going on beneath your skin by identifying:

  • Hormonal imbalances – such as elevated androgens or fluctuating oestrogen levels that can trigger acne or pigmentation

  • Nutrient deficiencies – including low levels of zinc, vitamin D, iron, or B vitamins that affect skin healing, texture, and radiance

  • Inflammation and immune responses – which may contribute to eczema, psoriasis, or rosacea

  • Liver and kidney function – which impact how well your body detoxifies, directly influencing skin clarity and tone

  • Thyroid dysfunction – often linked to dry skin, hair thinning, or sluggish skin renewal

How does the blood testing service work?

There are 3 options for our blood testing service;

1. As part of one our three Health packages

2. As an add on to any other treatment or service

3. As an independent service

All of our blood tests are done using a capillary sample (finger-prick test), which not only means no nasty needles! But also that they can be done in the comfort of your home, and can be done in a way that meets your needs. Whichever option you choose, the test will be delivered to your door, along with clear written instructions and secure, pre-paid return packaging. An instructional video will also be emailed to you.

Once the laboratory receive the sample it usually takes 48-72 hours for the results to become available. A doctor will then review the results and write a comprehensive report, including any recommendations or advice.

Option 1: Health packages

A blood test is required as part of any health package, because it provides the essential information we need to assess your health accurately. We do not offer health packages without a blood test, as we believe in taking a thorough and informed approach to your wellbeing.

There are 3 health packages available;

  • Bronze: Includes a 30 minute consultation where we discuss your medical history, concerns and goals, the selection of the most beneficial blood tests(s) for your needs, and a 30 minute results consultation with explanation of results and onward advice (eg services, nutrition, lifestyle).
  • Silver: Includes a 30 minute consultation where we discuss your medical history, concerns and goals, the selection of the most beneficial blood tests(s) for your needs, physiological measurements (blood pressure, heart rate, weight, height, BMI, oxygen levels, finger prick cholesterol and blood sugar check), and a 30 minute results consultation with explanation of results and onward advice (eg services, nutrition, lifestyle).
  • Gold: Includes a 30 minute consultation where we discuss your medical history, concerns and goals, the selection of the most beneficial blood tests(s) for your needs, physiological measurements (blood pressure, heart rate, weight, height, BMI, oxygen levels, finger prick cholesterol and blood sugar check), and a 30 minute results consultation with explanation of results and onward advice (eg services, nutrition, lifestyle). Followed by a further 30 minute follow up consultation, review of action plan, symptoms and progress, physiological measurements (blood pressure, heart rate, weight, height, BMI, oxygen levels, finger prick cholesterol and blood sugar check), and further assessment and advice as needed.

**blood tests are sold separately and are not included in the price of the package**

Option 2: Add on to any treatment or service

When having any treatment or service, a blood test can added on without the need for a health package or additional consultation. If it's something you're considering, we can discuss it at your treatment appointment.

Option 3: Purchase a blood test

If you just want to check specific markers and know which test you need, you can choose from the tests below and order a test here, or by text/WhatsApp 07584788513, or email firststophealth@outlook.com and the he results will be emailed to you.

Magnesium

Feeling fatigued, experiencing muscle cramps, or struggling with low energy?

Magnesium is essential for muscle function, nerve signalling, and heart health, but low levels can often go unnoticed.

This test measures your serum magnesium levels, helping to identify deficiencies that could be affecting your energy, mood, or overall well-being.

Antenatal Health Profile

This antenatal blood test checks key vitamin and hormone levels to support a healthy pregnancy and fertility. It includes:

  • Vitamin D – Important for bone development, immune support, and overall maternal and fetal health. Low levels are common and can increase risks like gestational diabetes or low birth weight.
  • TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone) – Assesses thyroid function, which is essential for fetal brain development and regulating metabolism during pregnancy. Abnormal levels can affect fertility, pregnancy maintenance, or baby’s development.
  • FSH (Follicle-Stimulating Hormone) & LH (Luteinising Hormone) – Help assess ovarian function and menstrual cycle regulation, often tested in early fertility assessments or irregular cycles.
  • Oestradiol – A form of estrogen that plays a key role in preparing the uterus for pregnancy and supporting early fetal development.
  • Prolactin – A hormone involved in milk production. Elevated levels outside pregnancy can impact ovulation and fertility

This test helps assess nutritional status, hormonal balance, and reproductive health, especially in women trying to conceive or in early pregnancy. Identifying deficiencies or imbalances early allows for timely treatment, improving outcomes for both mother and baby.

Female Hormone Profile

Are you experiencing symptoms such as acne, unexpected weight gain, or fatigue, and want to check if they could be hormone-related?

Or maybe you want to explore whether a hormone imbalance could be affecting your fertility.

This test checks whether your hormones (SHBG, TSH, Free Thyroxine, FSH, LH, Oestradiol, Testosterone, Free Androgen Index, Prolactin) are in the normal range for your age & indicates whether your symptoms could be due to a hormone imbalance or thyroid problem.

    A message from our laboratory:

"It is important to note that blood tests alone are not a substitute for seeing a doctor, particularly if you are feeling unwell. You should not make a diagnosis or start any treatment without a consultation with a doctor or a suitably trained health care professional. There are many times when test results which are out of range are entirely insignificant but there are other times when they are not. They always need to be interpreted in the context of the rest of your health and this can only really be determined with a full clinical history and examination.

Finding out about a problem or a health risk early can save lives. However, blood tests are often not conclusive in themselves. Some serious health problems will not be uncovered in blood tests and suspicions about conditions may be raised that with further investigation may turn out not to be a problem at all.

Our doctors at London Medical Laboratory review the results of your blood test in a report and provide a general explanation of what each result may mean and some advice about what you can do to improve your health. We also encourage you to discuss your results with your GP, particularly if you have any concerns or are feeling unwell in any way."
